Horizontal Furnace for Fire Resistance Testing

Horizontal Furnace for Fire Resistance Testing

Product Description

In accordance with fire safety regulations, fire resistance limit tests must be conducted on various structural components such as beams and slabs. The fire performance test uses open flame heating to simulate the thermal conditions similar to an actual fire. This test furnace replicates the real fire temperature rise curve, meeting the requirements for fire resistance testing of test specimens, and provides a comprehensive evaluation of the component’s fire resistance performance.

Technical Specifications

1) Furnace Temperature Control

According to national standard GB 9978, the furnace temperature rise curve should comply with the following formula:
T – T₀ = 345 × log(8t + 1)
Where:

t = time elapsed during the test (minutes)

T = furnace temperature at time t (°C)

T₀ = initial furnace temperature (should be within 5°C to 40°C)

2) Pressure Requirements

Pressure is measured at a height of 3 meters inside the furnace and 100 mm from the specimen surface:

5 minutes after test start: furnace pressure = 15 Pa ± 5 Pa

10 minutes after test start: furnace pressure = 17 Pa ± 3 Pa

3) Fire Resistance Limit Criteria

Loss of integrity

Loss of insulation:

The average temperature rise on the unexposed side exceeds 140°C above the initial average surface temperature, or

Any point on the unexposed side rises more than 180°C above its initial temperature.
